Who We Are

Jean Touzot Librairie Internationale is a bookseller and general agent for all French language books and periodicals. For over 70 years, Touzot has been serving American libraries, museums and research institutions. Here is a brief list of the services we offer.

We supply any and all French books published in France as well as in Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Africa, Canada, and other francophone regions, all at publishers' list prices.

We create highly selective "blanket order" or approval plans tailored to the needs and budget of your institution. This plan may be general or limited to given subject areas. Touzot currently supplies a variety of literature, history and social science collections for some of the world's most prestigious institutions and national libraries, as well as supplying specialized collections in Africana, Fine Arts, Theology, and Holocaust studies.

We also provide an offer slip service, which is available to clients at no cost. This regular shipment of bibliographic record slips provides fast and accurate information regarding titles likely to be of interest to your library. All bibliographic records are created by our experienced and highly trained staff, led by our director Jean-Denis Touzot, who oversees all book selections. These records and selections are based on the book in hand, ensuring you of accurate and reliable information, and thoroughly reviewed selections. Monographic and serials databases are available to our clients online.

We offer electronic options for receipt of records and transmission of orders and invoice information from web access to FTP and EDI transmission.

We have owned and operated a large bookstore for the general public for many years, and this combination of direct retail service and book exporting has given us a thorough knowledge of the French publishing world and American collections. We are able to supply not only the latest popular novel, but also that hard-to-find treatise on francophone literature. As members of many professional organizations and learned societies, we regularly receive information concerning many non-commercial publications.
